Over the past several months, an unknown individual or individuals have accessed and tampered with Elderville Water Supply Corporation’s facilities, causing service disruptions for customers and overtime expenses for the Corporation. On or around September 8, 2018 an unknown individual or individuals closed an Elderville water valve in the vicinity of Williams Street, which valve closure resulted in a brief service disruption. Since that date, an unknown individual or individuals have also closed valves located in the vicinity of Greenbriar Road and Garrett Road. These unauthorized valve closures caused large service disruptions and cost Elderville thousands of dollars in overtime expenses.
Elderville Water Supply Corporation will pay a reward up to $500.00 for information that leads law enforcement to the arrest and grand jury indictment of anyone involved in the tampering of Elderville Water Supply Corporation facilities, which tampering can range from a Class C Misdemeanor to a state jail felony, dependent upon the damage to the water system and the pecuniary loss suffered by the Corporation.
As the Corporation is a Member owned utility, these actions are damaging your water supply system. Please help us stop these damages and service interruptions from continuing in the future.
